Dear Friend,

My travels so far this year have been, yet again, an eye-opening experience. Travelling again through South East Asia, as well as India enabled me the opportunity dive deeper in the cultures within. All our technology has made it easier to travel somewhere we’ve never been to, but believe me, there’s a certain amount of curiosity and bravery that goes alongside being outside your comfort zone.

Experiencing food is always a highlight for me: seeing how local produce forms well established local cuisine, the historical influence, usually from imperialism and colonialism, and seeing people with years of cooking skills, whether out of passion, necessity, or both, creates one of life’s greatest pleasures.

I’ve now settled in Germany. I’m finding it’s quite a different thing living in another country. When you’re travelling you’re constantly being challenged, and more often than not you anticipate a definitive end. But building a life in a new city, let alone a new country, that’s a challenge all in its own. Learning the language has its own difficulties as well, but by far the most rewarding skill to learn with instant feedback. Right now, it’s a long process. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the progress.

You can see some of my favourite photos from my trip, many of which I’ll be printing in my second book. But here’s a sneak peek for you.
